New to SDA and/or new to dance? Here’s a brief rundown of the classes we offer, the time and financial commitment, and how to get started!

Our school year season starts in September (the Monday after Labor Day), and we wrap in early May. We have 6 weeks off (one each quarter and two around the new year) giving us 30 weeks of classes. We finish the season with and end-of-year recital, that all of our dancers participate in!

We also have a short summer season with classes and camps in June and July, giving us a break in May and August during the busy months our dancers transition in and out of school.

We build a foundation and then start adding new styles of dance as our dancers get older.

We start with creative movement classes through age 4.

Dancers take our ballet/tap combo classes from ages 5-8. They can also start acro and hip hop at age 5, and pom and musical theater at age 7. This is the earliest our dancers can enter our competitive program as well!

When dancers are 9, our ballet/tap combo gets longer and includes jazz.

When dancers are 15, our combo class includes lyrical.

Our program is priced to encourage dancers to take multiple classes. Since all of the different styles of dance have their own benefits, dancers progress the fastest when they learn all of them, and have the chance to learn from new teachers and classmates.

Our classes start at $560 (or $70/month for 8 months) for the full September-May season, and that price includes all classes, the recital, and the recital costume. From there, each extra class gets a steeper discount.
